Vienna-based reebuild raises €3 million to build the AI operating system for construction and real estate

reebuild, the Vienna-based AI-native back-office automation platform for construction and real estate, has raised a €3 million Seed round.

The round was led by Fortino Ventures, a Ghent-based VC firm backing B2B AI and software companies across Europe from its third-generation VC fund. Other investors in the round include Rise PropTech and CuriosityVC, and existing backer Hansmann Family Office also participated.

“We know the problems of this industry firsthand, and we build reebuild together with our customers, extremely close to the day-to-day reality on site. The software many construction companies and developers still work with today has barely evolved in decades and has fallen behind rising expectations. We’re convinced that we can shake up this market with a team that combines deep construction and technology know-how. Not with another tool, but with a solution that truly understands how construction sites and projects are handled on the commercial side,” said Alexander Kornell, CEO and founder of reebuild.

Founded in 2022 by Alexander Kornell (CEO), Matteo Cimadom (CRO) and Luca Papay (CTO) joined as co-founders, reebuild operates as a vertical AI platform that reads every incoming document line by line, whether a PDF, photo, scan, or e-invoice, and converts it into structured data and automates invoice review, cost management, and material tracking.

On its platform, delivery notes, invoices, and order confirmations are matched automatically, and the software progressively learns from the decisions of commercial managers, reducing repetitive administrative workload over time. On site, a foreman can photograph a delivery note with the mobile app and have it instantly embedded in the system.

With cost administration between departments still largely managed in spreadsheets and paper folders, invoices matched by hand, approvals lacking transparency and early-payment discounts routinely unclaimed, reebuild wants to fix this gap with AI agents preparing work, flagging repetitive tasks and recommending next actions, while keeping human teams in charge of final approvals.

The company says its platform has processed more than €530 million in invoice volume across over 120 construction companies and property developers, spanning more than 8,200 construction sites and projects. It has automatically handled more than 345k documents, counts more than 2,350 active users across its customer base, and includes Pittel+Brausewetter, 3SI Immogroup, Rödl & Herdegen, and Kratzert Gruppe. It also reports that invoice handling time has been cut from over 20 minutes to approximately three minutes, while customers have indicated a reduction in procurement costs by up to 20%.

“We believe now is the time for construction companies to digitise and automate their back-office processes with SaaS and AI. reebuild is the right team to execute on this, with the founding team having their family roots in the construction sector,” said Wouter Goossens, Partner at Fortino Ventures.

The funding will be deployed across three areas: geographic expansion beyond reebuild’s established markets in Austria and Germany, the development of new AI-native modules that fully automate contractors’ workflows from calculation to accounting; and team growth at its Vienna headquarters, where the company currently employs around 25 people.

For reebuild, AI-native modules are the first step, but the company intends to become the agentic back office for the construction industry, where AI agents independently handle routine tasks such as invoicing, on-site documentation, and project estimation, covering a contractor’s entire commercial workflow from calculation to accounting.
